Notes on Lowell's talk
Most of the notes I took are duplicated by Lowell's slides.
An early, notable point in the talk was the PMBOK definition of a project. According to the PMBOK, a project is a temporary endeavor, with a "definite beginning and a definite end." After completion of a PMBOK project, it's expected that the project team will be disbanded and reassigned to other tasks.
Agile software development emphasizes a flow rather than discrete projects, and the organization is better served by keeping the team together.
